Former President Trump on Thursday criticized Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson vetoing a transgender health-care measure and suggested his former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders would do a better job leading the state.

“Asa Hutchinson, the lightweight RINO Governor of Arkansas, just vetoed a Bill that banned the CHEMICAL CASTRATION OF CHILDREN.  ‘Bye-bye Asa,’ that’s the end of him!” Trump said in a statement.

The GOP-led legislature that drafted and passed the measure on Wednesday over-road Hutchinson’s veto.

The Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act attempts to prohibiting anyone under 18 from receiving hormones, puberty blockers, and transition-related surgeries, according to NPR.

Hutchinson has said the bill was well intended but as written was too much of a government overreach for him to sign into law.

In January, Sanders, the daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckakbee, announced her bid to run for governor.

“Fortunately for the Great State of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will do a fantastic job as your next Governor!” Trump said.

Nikki Haley says she will back Trump if he runs in 2024

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley says that she will support former President Trump if he chooses to mount a White House bid in 2024.

Haley, who has previously served as governor of South Carolina, indicated that she will not run for president in 2024 if Trump tosses his hat into the ring.

“I would not run if President Trump ran,” said Haley. “And I would talk to him about it. That’s something that we’ll have a conversation about at some point, if that decision is something that has to be made.”

“I had a great working relationship with him,” Haley recalled. “I appreciated the way he let me do my job. I thought we did some fantastically great foreign policy things together. And look, I just wanna keep building on what we accomplished and not watch it get torn down.”

Haley said the last time she had spoken to Trump was after the 2020 election but prior to January 6th.

Trump says Georgia’s new election bill should’ve been passed before the 2020 presidential election

Published

Former President Trump is supporting Georgia’s recent enacted election-reform laws but says the measure should gort further and should’ve been in place before 2020 presidential election.

In a statement Monday, Trump called the bill recently signed into law by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp a “watered down” version of an election bill Trump would have preferred.

“Too bad the desperately needed election reforms in Georgia didn’t go further, as their originally approved bill did,” Trump said. “But the governor and lieutenant governor would not go for it. This bill should have been passed before the 2020 Presidential Election, not after.”

Trump lost the election in part because he failed to win Georgia, a once reliable Red state.

State Republicans say the new laws expand voting and improve voting integrity through such changes as having a photo ID to vote by mail. Critics say the change limit voting, particularly for black residents. Kemp signed measure into law Thursday.

In the statement, Trump also said the lawl does not have the proper safety measures such as signature matching. And he  suggested conservatives in Georgia should start to boycott all the companies that have decried the new voting laws, including Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines and Major League Baseball, which moved its 2021 All Star game from Atlanta to Colorado.

Supreme Court declines to hear case over Trump having blocked Twitter attacks

Published

on

The Supreme Court declined Monday to hear a suit by Twitter users who argued their First Amendment rights had been violated when Donald Trump as president block them from his account.

The high court made the decision after the Justice Department said the end Trump’s presidency made the case moot, according to NBC News.

The case was brought by seven people who responded critically to tweets on Trump’s @realDonaldTrump account, which Twitter has permanently shuttered. The plaintiffs argued successfully in lower courts, which held that Twitter users’ First Amendment rights had been violated, based on their viewpoints.

The Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit said the president’s account amounted to a kind of public forum and often concerned official matters with contributions from White House staff members.

The Trump Justice Department urged the Supreme Court to reverse those rulings, then dismiss the case. While the president’s tweets were sometimes official statements, his decision to block individual responses was a personal one allowed by any Twitter user, government lawyers contended, NBC also reports.
