Montana man tried to lure young girls to start ‘incest family’

A sicko who attempted to start an “incest family” with underage girls in Montana was sentenced to nearly three decades in prison Friday.

Gary Lee Hodges, 72, of Bigfork, was sentenced on Feb. 24 to 27 years behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of attempting to entice a minor into illegal sexual activity, the US Attorney’s Office announced.

Hodges — who referred to himself as “Pawpaw” — was busted after he began exchanging disturbing messages online with an undercover cop posing as a West Virginia mother of two daughters in Dec. 2021, according to an affidavit obtained by Law & Crime.

The 72-year-old sent the officer dozens of messages describing how he wanted to sleep with her and her 13- and 11-year-old daughters.

Upon learning that the 11-year-old was a virgin, he wrote about how they could “make the younger first experience a shared family moment.”

He also said he would homeschool the girls, saying it “is way more than the intimate fun we will have, it is about being a real family.”

By late December, Hodges was also emailing with a person he believed to be the woman’s 13-year-old daughter, describing himself as a “permanent grandfather of sorts.”

He also gifted all three women lingerie for Christmas, telling them he wanted to make them “feel pretty and sexy.”

After almost a month of messaging, Hodges was finally arrested on Jan. 14, 2022, after he flew to Charleston, W. Va. to unite with the women.

Hodges pleaded guilty to both enticement counts in June 2022. In the sentencing memo obtained by Law & Crime, officials describe his “long-term dream” of enslaving young girls, citing to evidence of his “sadistic sexual abuse” of an underage woman in the mid-2000s.

In court, prosecutors referred to Hodges behavior as “abominable.”

As of Dec. 2022, Hodges has been in custody at Carter County Detention Center in Kentucky.

As part of his sentence, Hodges will also have to register as a sex offender.
