More than 120 retired flag officers sign open letter warning that America ‘is in deep peril’

Published

on

More than 120 retired American military officials have signed an open letter warning that America has veered left under Democratic control and that the nation’s survival is on the line.

“Under a Democrat Congress and the Current Administration, our Country has taken a hard left turn toward Socialism and a Marxist form of tyrannical government which must be countered now by electing congressional and presidential candidates who will always act to defend our Constitutional Republic. The survival of our Nation and its cherished freedoms, liberty, and historic values are at stake,” the letter states.

Some of the signers include retired Army Brigadier General Donald Bolduc, who is running to serve as a U.S. Senator from the state of New Hampshire, and retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, the executive vice president of the Family Research Council.

As one of the various issues raised, the letter described China as the largest outside threat to the U.S. and called for levying sanctions and restrictions in order to defend national interests and counter China’s “world domination goal.”

The retired military officials advocated for building a border wall. “Sovereign nations must have controlled borders,” they wrote.

Regarding the Democrat-backed elections-related legislation which was approved by the House earlier this year without any GOP support, they warned that,  “H.R.1 & S.1, (if passed), would destroy election fairness and allow Democrats to forever remain in power violating our Constitution and ending our Representative Republic.”

They expressed opposition to the idea of the U.S. participating in an Iran nuclear deal and called for nixing “the corrosive infusion of Political Correctness into our military which damages morale and war fighting cohesion.”

“Our Nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty,” they declare in the letter.

Newsom offers cash to voters from budget windfall, federal COVID relief money, ahead of recall vote

Published

on

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is offering COVID-19 relief money to resident-voters amid a likely recall election vote – using a stunning $75.7 billion state surplus that was fueled by capital gains taxes collected during the pandemic and $26 billion in direct state aid from the federal stimulus plan that congressional Democrats passed in March.

Newsom announced the plan Monday in a statewide road show. Money in his $100 billion California Comeback Plan will help residents pay utility bills and back rent, according to Politico

Voters mounted a successful recall petition drive sparked largely by what they considered Newsom’s mismanagement of the pandemic, including over-strict health-safety measures.

The checks would arrive in voters’ mailboxes before the recall voter is expected to be put to residents on a November ballot.

Former  Gov. Gray Davis, who was recalled in 2003, suggested the announcement is good news, telling Politico: “It’s very significant, and it dovetails into the general perception that we are coming out of the pandemic, the worst is behind us, the future looks brighter as evidenced by the checks the public will soon receive.”

However, the budget windfall, the result in part of the state’s progressive tax structure, could result in an anti-tax movement like one three decades ago.

Under a constitutional spending cap, the state must refund taxes and direct more money to schools once revenues top a certain level, Politico also reports.

Senate Republican who warned of the federal package resulting in a slush fund for some states on Monday spoke against Newsom’s plan.

“This is one more reason why borrowing and sending tens of billions to California was a crying shame – and why every Republican in Congress opposed it,” Utah GOP Sen. Mitt Romney tweeted.

Giuliani’s Lawyer Responds to FBI Raid of Apartment, Seizure of Electronic Devices

Published

on

After the FBI raided Rudy Giuliani’s apartment on Wednesday morning, the former New York City mayor and Trump attorney has responded through his attorney Robert Costello.

“Giuliani’s attorney Bob Costello says the raid ‘is totally unnecessary’ and the only reason for it is ‘bad publicity’ to “make him (Rudy) look like he’s some sort of criminal.” Fox News’ John Roberts tweeted, citing reporter Marta Dhanis.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Costello also called the FBI’s raid “legal thuggery.” Costello also gave his understanding of the raid.

“Mr. Costello said authorities arrived at Mr. Giuliani’s apartment at 6 a.m. and seized his electronic devices,” the Wall Street Journal reported. “Mr. Costello said the search warrant describes the investigation as a probe into a possible violation of foreign lobbying rules. Mr. Costello said the warrant sought communications between Mr. Giuliani and individuals including John Solomon, a columnist who was in communication with Mr. Giuliani about his effort to push for investigations of Joe Biden in Ukraine.”

Giuliani’s lawyer also said that in recent years “he had offered to answer investigators’ questions as long as they agreed to say what area they were looking at ahead of time,” the Journal continued. “He said they declined the offer.”

“It’s like I’m talking to a wall,” he added.

The Wall Street Journal gives further insight into what the FBI was seeking out, and it is by all appearances retribution for investigating the president’s son Hunter Biden.

“The investigation is looking into possible violations of foreign lobbying rules, and the search warrant sought communications between Giuliani and others including conservative columnist John Solomon,” Costello said.

The New York Times earlier reported that the FBI had raided the former mayor’s apartment.

“Federal investigators in Manhattan executed a search warrant on Wednesday at the Upper East Side apartment of Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who became President Donald J. Trump’s personal lawyer, stepping up a criminal investigation into Mr. Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine, three people with knowledge of the matter said,” the Times reported.

“One of the people said the investigators had seized Mr. Giuliani’s electronic devices,” the Times added. The raid is related to Giuliani’s investigation to “unearth damaging information about Mr. Biden and his son Hunter,” the report noted. The Associated Press confirmed the report.
